Sometimes when you have just installed a new Linux Distro, be it Ubuntu, Debian or any other Distro, and after you open terminal to install some apps or insert some commands, you are surprised by bash terminal not auto completing your inserted commands. that's what I'm showing in this video, How to enable auto completion. The video bellow will help you enable auto completion.

So first of all open a Terminal

  • then edit .bashrc file located in your home directory (it is a hidden file)
  • next comment out all the lines under  auto-completion (refer to video)
  • then apply settings : "source .bashrc" (make sure you are in home directory before running this command)
  • and there you have it, now all commands will support auto completion.
